Bikini Berlin: Aural Enhancement

The Aural Enhancement of Bikini Berlin's shopping mall, consisted of composing and installing a two hour piece of site-specific sound within the pre-existing architecture and acoustical properties of the space. The composition was played back discreetly throughout the shopping malls speaker system, which created a consistent sonic presence throughout the mall, opposed to the commonly heard clashing aural environments heard with the complexity of a mall.

This practical project was in support of a dissertation exploring:

How can a site-specific aural composition be prescribed to contribute discreetly to experiential design within a specific large-scale public and social retail space?
